When the Youth Olympic Games (YOG) travelled to Africa for the very first time, the Organising Committee faced a single, uncompromising requirement: one equipment partner capable of covering 13 core sports, in a brand-new market, on a fixed and immovable deadline. Taishan Sports was appointed to equip and support the Dakar Youth Olympic Games — the company's fourth consecutive YOG engagement and its eighth Olympic-family Games.
Dakar 2026 was never a routine order. Three pressures defined the project:
- Breadth: 13 core disciplines had to be equipped and serviced by a single supplier — gymnastics, judo, boxing, wushu, cycling among them — each governed by its own international federation standards.
- Geography: West African logistics, customs clearance and on-site warehousing had to be engineered from scratch, with no prior footprint on the continent.
- Accountability: A Youth Olympic Games allows no second attempt. Every mat, frame, ring and barrier had to be certified, tested and match-ready before the opening ceremony on 31 October.
